Tanjong Pagar is Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s constituency, so it was particularly special for Our Tanjong Pagar family to come together to plant trees in his honour on the 100th year of his birth.
In 1963, Mr Lee planted a mempat tree sapling at Farrer Circus in 1963. It started the island-wide tree planting movement which we continue to observe 60 years later.
That was his vision of a garden city which we continue to nurture across generations.
